Why Join Special Olympics?
Special Olympics is more than just sport—it's a movement built on inclusion, friendship, and personal growth. Athletes gain physical fitness, confidence, and a sense of belonging. They also build lifelong friendships, learn teamwork, and experience the joy of being part of something bigger than themselves.
What Sports can I try?
We offer a range of sports throughout the year—athletics, swimming, basketball, bocce, football and ten-pin bowling. We partner with Hutt Valley Riding for the Disabled to offer Equestrian. Snowsports are organised by the Lower North Island Regional Trust. You’re welcome to enquire about multiple sports at once, especially if you’re curious to explore different options before settling into a routine.
